John W. Parsons was born in 1933 in the small, upstate town of Palmyra, New York.  He graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1954 with a degree in Bachelors of Teaching.  Mr. Parsons continued his studies at the University of Rochester, where he received his Masters Degree in Education.  Currently enjoying retirement, he was a career teacher and administrator.
Mr. Parsons continues to reside in Palmyra with the love of his life, his wife of 56 years.  They have four wonderful children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren in their remarkable family. His hometown is proud to be the birthplace of the Mormon Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and its fine associations with the wonderful people that are an integral part of this growing religion.

His first attempt at writing was in 2008 when he published A JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE, a story based upon the diaries of his grandfather, Benjamin Tyler. The story is a historical view of family life and the heartrending moments and struggles involved in raising a family during the early 1900's in rural upstate New York.
